I needed a bag to corral supplies used in a current knitting project.

My life consists of a series of individual projects, whether on the computer, knitting, crochet, sewing, plants, or cooking/baking. In particular, I like to keep each current knit or crochet project in its own place, so that all essentials (needles, scissors, row counters, yarn, cable needles, etc.) are in one place and easily accessed.

While working on a new knitted hat project (it was a Christmas gift, so I can only now give you the details!), I was using a cardboard box to keep all of my supplies together, and it just wasn't very inspirational. I was looking for a sewing pattern for a zippered bag to keep everything clean and neat.

A quick search brought me to the YouTube channel Voolenvine, run by a very creative and proficient host named Kristen. Her project was exactly what I was looking for.

I have a large plastic bin of fabric scraps (I never toss anything away, always believing that it might become handy some day), and I just so happened to have all of the necessary items, including fusible interfacing and a zipper. (Actually, one of the fabric scraps is an old linen shirt that never really fit me well, so I'm happy it found a better purpose!)

Kristen's video was extremely clear, and in the course of an afternoon I completed the bag.

This is definitely a project I will return to again in the future, for there are always projects that need to be organized.
